Preview of first 2 levels.

Finished working out the colors for the first 2 levels.  There's still a lot of stuff missing from these mock-ups.  Most noticeably the colored border of the light which creates a punch of saturation.  Let me know what you think!

  1. they are both very grey, i think even with a band of saturated color, it would still be a good idea to push up the color saturation in the shadow side maybe?

  2. They're not actually that grey. I don't know why these pictures look like that.

  3. I think there was a layer of white that I was using to try lightening the values in front of the backgrounds when I saved this. I think that's what that killed the color.

  4. i think you should base the levels off of frazzeta, he always managed to have these simple light shapes with very little color variance, and then have all this crazy saturated color going on in the shadows, http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_41h1KEUny6U/TBu1_N_jC6I/AAAAAAAAA_s/asIlwPbv82M/s1600/FrankFrazetta-Conan-the-Adventurer-1966.jpg

  5. That's not a bad idea at all. The reason I'm not doing something like that here is that almost all of the game will take place in the light. I don't want the shadows to be distracting.
